Primate Yemi Ogunbanjo, President of the Christian Followers of the Ark of God Congregation (Egbe Eleri), has issued a stern warning to individuals or groups attempting to establish splinter factions of the Egbe Eleri movement. He cautioned them not to distort or tarnish the sacred doctrines of Eri.
In a press statement released through his media team and personally signed, Primate Ogunbanjo emphasized that the congregation will not stand by while anyone undermines the spiritual values and beliefs that faithful Christians have upheld over the years.
“We’ve observed that some individuals are attempting to set up other versions of Egbe Eleri,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with forming fellowships in the name of unity, but we strongly insist that the core values and doctrine of Eri must not be tampered with or misrepresented.”
Primate Ogunbanjo clarified that the Eri doctrine practiced by his congregation is deeply rooted in Christian teachings.
“Our Eri is not a form of idolatry. We believe in the oneness of God and worship only the Almighty through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” he explained.
He further urged those establishing new fellowships to ensure their practices remain lawful and spiritually sound.
“Our advice is simple—do not engage in activities that violate the law or lead to misinterpretation of the gospel. Stay within the bounds of both scriptural and civil order to avoid becoming an offender.”
