The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, was filled with overwhelming praise and heartfelt gratitude on Sunday, December 7, 2025, as thousands of worshippers from across the world converged for the church’s 2025 Annual Thanksgiving Service themed “Recounting His Faithfulness.”
From the opening moments, the multilingual worship rendered in Swahili, French, English and Ashanti, captured SCOAN’s global identity and inclusive culture, setting a deeply spiritual tone for the day’s event.
Leading the thanksgiving, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, wife of late founder, Prophet T.B. Joshua, delivered a moving message centred on God’s sustaining grace throughout a year marked by global and national challenges. She expressed profound gratitude for the testimonies witnessed within the ministry, noting, “We have seen God lift people from nowhere to higher places, heal the sick and turn the downtrodden into royalty. That indeed is why He deserves our thanksgiving.”
The service also featured a solemn session of national intercession, during which the congregation prayed fervently for peace, economic revival, renewed hope and unity across Nigeria, affirming the theme of recounting God’s faithfulness even in difficult seasons.
Among high-profile international attendees was Dr. Patrick Kpashagsi from Uganda, who described thanksgiving as a foundational pillar of SCOAN’s spiritual identity. He commended Pastor Evelyn Joshua for her steady leadership and unwavering commitment to the vision established by Prophet T.B. Joshua, urging believers to continually “recount” God’s goodness through gratitude.
Adding further impact to the day, guest preacher Stephen Nbasi from Tanzania delivered a stirring sermon on deepening intimacy with God. He highlighted faith, obedience and heartfelt thanksgiving as essential virtues for a flourishing Christian life aligning perfectly with the essence of the thanksgiving theme.
The service rounded off with special prayers for families, the church community and Nigeria as a whole. Worshippers departed the grounds uplifted, renewed and filled with hope, embodying the spirit of “Recounting His Faithfulness” as they look forward to the year ahead.
