The Yoruba entertainment community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.
The announcement was made through the Instagram page of veteran actor Prince Jide Kosoko, who expressed sadness over the passing of the deceased.
According to the announcement, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan died at about 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
His remains are expected to be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, where special prayers will be held in his honour.
The prayer session has been scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pavilion, Ilaro, Ogun State.
The announcement called on family members, friends, colleagues and loved ones to pray for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for strength for the family to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest and give his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss,” the announcement stated.
