Zenith Bank Compounds Nigerians’ Difficult Situations! How Bank Of The Year Gave Customers Sorrow of The Year

The self-acclaimed Nigerian bank of the year, Zenith Bank Nigerian PLC has continued to linger on in the minds of countless customers across the country over the harrowing experience the bank put them through during the last few weeks especially between the festive period of Easter and Eid al-Fitr.

In what could be described as an epic fail and a big slur on the Nigerian banking industry, Zenith Bank’s cut off the joy of customers many hours before the festivals by ensuring that its ATMs, mobile and internet banking didn’t work throughout the celebrations.

While other banks were effectively discharging their responsibilities and promises to customers, Zenith bank’s customers were either weeping profusely, hitting their heads on the wall and spending the period in regrets as every attempt to withdraw or transfer money to loved ones lead to debits without credits.

A visits to several of the bank’s branches shows a gathering of disappointed and frustrated customers who have been dealt the zenith bank blow and didn’t even know what to do about the unfortunate situation.

“It will never be better for this bank for putting me through this suffering. My son in Abuja sent me twenty thousand naira last week for Easter and while I was just about withdrawing it, this bank debited me. What sorts of trouble is this?” cried out a frustrated aged woman at one of the Zenith Bank branches at Ogba, area of Lagos.

The agony of customers is better felt on social media as the customers took to the bank’s social media platforms to call them out. All the bank could do was to quickly release a statement and blame the embarrassment on “temporary system downtime”.

The below screenshots of comments by zenith bank customers better paints the pictures of the gloomy situation caused by the bank during and after the festive holidays.

Many customers are however saying that this punishment from Zenith bank didn’t just start during the just concluded holidays, according to them this issue has been an ongoing one as some of the screenshots below revealed.

As zenith bank continues to spark anger and disappointment amongst its customers, some questions beg for answers. How long will this problem continue? With all these happening, does it still sound logical to call zenith bank “The Bank Of the Year”?
