In the bustling world of Nollywood, Tijani Abisola Rukayat, affectionately known as Anti Ruka, is rapidly making her mark. A versatile talent, Rukayat has successfully navigated roles in both the Yoruba and English speaking movie sectors as an actress and continuity manager. Originating from Ibadan, Oyo State, this single mother and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho (LAUTECH) accounting management graduate of 2015 embarked on her acting journey immediately after completing her varsity education. This was before going for her NYSC at Command Secondary School, Ojo Barracks, Lagos.

Rukayat’s venture into acting began in 2015, inspired by a conversation with star actor Damola Olatunji, who later introduced her to the industry. “It’s been a passion of mine, and despite the industry’s challenges, I’ve been blessed,” Rukayat shared during an interview with Gbolahan Adetayo.

Her filmography is impressive, with over 30 movies appearance, including notable titles such as “Toke Giwa,” “Monisola,” “Abamo,” “Blindness,” “Kaamu,” and the “House Alone Series.”

Transitioning to script supervision during periods when acting roles were scarce, Rukayat honed her skills in continuity management under the guidance of Temitope Fayomi (Tiptop), thanks to Itele’s intervention and support during a challenging phase in her career. “Itele stood by me when others stepped back. I owe him a lot,” she stated.

Rukayat’s expertise as a continuity manager has been showcased in projects like the “House Alone Series,” “IYE OBA” (a cinema movie), “Afamefuna,” and “Unchanged Fate.” She highlighted the disparities between working in Yoruba and English movie industries, praising the English sector for its better treatment and compensation of crew members.

Despite the obstacles, Rukayat’s determination remains unshaken. With plans to produce her own movie by May, she is poised for greater heights in Nollywood. Rukayat’s story is not just one of personal triumph but also a testament to the pivotal role of mentorship and support within the film industry.
