UK-Based Philanthropist Omowunmi Fasanmi Opens “Child of Light” Children’s Home and Resource Center in Lagos



Without mincing words, the quintessential and beautiful Mrs. Omowunmi Fasanmi remains an exceptional figure and an epitome of beauty with a sincere heart for her immense contributions to society. This is exemplified by the “Child of Light” Children’s Home and Resource Center, which was officially dedicated and opened for activities on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1A Segun Akinola Street, Awori Bus Stop, Abule Egba, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos.


The prospects for “Child of Light” Children’s Home and Resource Center are promising, with expectations that it will soon become a household name among its contemporaries within Nigeria and across African countries.


Thousands have benefited and continue to benefit from the generosity of Omowunmi Fasanmi. Extending her kindness beyond her immediate jurisdiction, she has garnered praise from special guests during the official opening.


Her unrivaled philanthropic work, particularly her support for motherless homes, has been widely applauded, especially in Lagos. Widows, widowers, and single mothers have also been empowered through the provision of equipment for small businesses (SMEs) or cash to start new ventures. This was noted by attendees and Kelechi Oluwafunmilayo Okafor, Mrs. Fasanmi’s daughter.

During the event, Venerable Bankole and Pastor Wale Akosile gave a brief exhortation on how “God builds a house, and without Him, the builders build in vain,” referencing the book of Isaiah. They emphasized that the “Child of Light” Children’s Home and Resource Center would become an exceptional motherless home within the state and serve as a point of reference for the entire Fasanmi family to achieve their dreams overseas.


Mrs. Omowunmi Fasanmi and her family, known for their kindness in all aspects of life, attribute their success to mutual understanding and divine support.
