Oloto Intervenes in Aare Tomori Williams, Suleoba Family Land Dispute

The Oloto of Otto and Lagos Mainland Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Bashir Abisoye Odesanya Olupejobi II, has intervened in the land dispute between the Onikoyi of Yorubaland, Aare Tomori Williams and the children of the Suleoba family over a property at Kadara Marina, Ebute Metta, Lagos.

The intervention followed a peace meeting held on Friday, October 23, at the monarch’s palace where the Suleoba family presented its complaints through a man identified as Ibrahim, while a representative of Aare Williams presented documents relating to the purchase of the disputed land from its previous owners.

After hearing both sides, the monarch described the social media allegations against Aare Williams as unfortunate, warning that such actions could amount to defamation and cyberbullying.

He advised the Suleoba family to explore internal mechanisms for resolving disputes before taking their grievances to social media.

The monarch noted that Aare Williams could have sought legal redress over the allegations but expressed hope that the matter would be resolved peacefully.

Oba Odesanya also explained that Aare Williams had worked with the Oloto family long before his ascension to the throne. He described Aare Williams as the only person holding a power of attorney relating to lands within the Otto Kingdom.

The traditional ruler urged the Suleoba family to embrace peace and withdraw its earlier allegations through a new video to be released within 48 hours of the meeting.

He added that, following the withdrawal, Aare Williams would be invited to a meeting to explain how he acquired ownership of the disputed property.

The intervention is expected to provide an avenue for both parties to address their differences and work towards a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
