Lagos AGN Election: Emeka Rising Defeats Incumbent, Emerges Lagos Actors Guild Of Nigeria Chairman

Emeka Rising has emerged as Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Lagos Chapter.

Rising, defeated the incumbent Moji Oyetayo 95 to 31 votes in the election conducted in Lagos at the events hall of the Rita Lori hotel Surulere over the weekend.

The electoral body AGNEC Chairman, Seyi Copperfield, stated the election was the most transparent, open and fair election in the history of the Lagos Guild.

Local and international observers also certified the election as very peaceful and innovative as it was devoid of rancour and contention by both contestants and their supporters.

In preparation for the election, a pressure group in Nollywood had endorsed Emeka Rising as Chairman to succeed Omotayo aka Mama Ajasco.

The coordinator of the group, Paul Julius, made the group’s position known during a chat with the stakeholders and members of the Guild in Lagos.

Julius explained that the group endorsed Emeka Rising as a preferential Chairmanship candidate because he was the only one that can resuscitate the Lagos Guild that is currently bereft of activities and ideas.

The newly elected Lagos executive will be sworn-in on Wednesday June 9, 2021 in Lagos.

Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos chapter is the mother and model of all other Guilds in Nigeria.
