In the last few days, alot has been going on in the Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood after court granted the bail of a renowned comic actor, Olarewaju Omiyinka James better known as Baba Ijesha, months after his detention at Panti Police station over alleged sexual harassment to a minor in Lagos.
Shortly after that, the leaders of the Theater Arts And Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) organized a press conference to address the several hullabaloos that have been ongoing on social media from day one.
Veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, during his speech was outbusted, where he claimed that he will frustrate a junior colleague, Nkechi Blessing out of the industry.
Having said that, Nkechi replied him in one of the official videos she released.
However, days after, Jide Kosoko has once again come out in a fresh video to say that he has no power to frustrate anyone.
According to him, “the conference was not about supporting Baba Ijesha, I personally condemned any act of rape. I only pleaded that the law should be allowed to take its course. That’s all I have said. On my outburst about frustrating Nkechi out of the industry, it depends on how you take it, like many of you said, I am not God, I have no power to frustrate anyone out of anywhere. It was an attempt to something because I considered Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi as children. If for any reason you offend your father and he says I will slap you till you go blind, does he really mean he wanted you to go blind? That’s not correct. I even went ahead to say that they are our children, when they agree to come back, we will joyfully receive them back. I believe we contributed to their success and it will be stupid of us to bring them down. Whatever we are saying is just to stop them from continually using derogatory statements against TAMPAN or the Yoruba film industry”, he said.
