“How I Was Being Used By Someone I Trusted and Respected in Nollywood”- Fanfaro Oil Boss, Olayinka Olaoye Reveals

The Chief Executive Officer of Fanfaro Oil in Abuja, Olayinka Olaoye who is currently part of the young men playing big in Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria, has revealed to us the real reason he left the Yoruba movie industry 9 years ago to delve into oil business. The Ibadan Oyo State-born business man stated this during an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Sunday.

When he was asked, Olaoye said, “I was active in Nollywood industry for about a year or 2, and I still have friends who have made it big in the industry. I was working as a Camera boy for Multimedia and also learning how to become a film editor at the same time. I was interested in becoming a superstar film editor and also an actor, but life happened, and I had a change of career. This was around 2011/2012. I left the industry because of some unforeseen circumstances. I realized I was being used by someone I trusted and respected. I don’t want to dwell much on this because It’s personal and I think we should let it be. Like you said, if I have the opportunity to come back into Nollywood, I won’t come back again, I will take Oil and gas before acting. I love the endless possibilities associated with oil and gas. Please don’t get me wrong, Nollywood is fantastic, and I cherish what the industry is doing at the moment, but personally, oil and gas give me the most joy. I’ve chosen a different career path and I intend to stay true to it”, he said.
