FG Approves 1,000 Duplexes for Nigerians in Diaspora, Partners Harmony Gardens on Landmark Lekki Aviation Town Project

In a monumental stride towards solving Nigeria’s housing deficit, the Honourable Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has approved the construction of 1,000 modern duplexes under the Renewed Hope Agenda Estate, specifically designed for Nigerians in the diaspora. This visionary estate will be strategically situated at Lekki Aviation Town, directly opposite the new Lekki International Airport in Epe Area of Lagos, an emerging hub of growth and opportunity.

This initiative, which will be financed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), aligns perfectly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The estate is a key component of the government’s promise to provide affordable, quality housing and foster homeownership opportunities for Nigerians globally. The groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for May 29, 2025, will be officially conducted by President Tinubu himself, marking yet another major leap in infrastructure development and diaspora engagement.

In a remarkable public-private partnership, the federal government has chosen to collaborate with Harmony Gardens & Estate Development Ltd, a leading light in Nigeria’s real estate sector. Widely regarded as one of the biggest and most trusted estate developers in Nigeria, Harmony Gardens has earned national recognition for its forward-thinking projects and high-quality urban developments.

Chairman of Harmony Gardens, Mogaji Wole Arisekola, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in Nigeria’s housing future, revealing that the firm has committed approximately ₦106 billion into the FGN and Harmony Partnership. This move, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, aims to tackle the nation’s housing deficit head-on.

The company’s Executive Managing Director, Hon. (Dr.) Abdullahi Saheed Mosadoluwa, fondly called The Lagos Landlord, is championing the introduction of the Ibile Traditional Mortgage System. This unique plan enables Nigerians both at home and abroad to rent-to-own homes with a highly affordable single-digit interest rate over a flexible period of 3 to 20 years.

The Renewed Hope Estate is designed with middle-income diaspora investors in mind. Each duplex will feature top-tier finishes, modern infrastructure, green spaces, security systems, and effective drainage, a blend of comfort, luxury, and sustainability.

Moreover, the construction phase is projected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, stimulating the economy through employment opportunities in construction, logistics, and materials sourcing.

Harmony Gardens’ track record is a testament to its capability and vision. The developer is behind seven major estate projects, fondly referred to as The Seven Citadel of Joy”, which include: Lekki Aviation Town, GranVille Estate, Majestic Bay, The Parliament,Harmony Casa and others redefining the Lagos real estate landscape.

With partnerships involving top-tier local developers and international consultants, the federal government has demonstrated a clear commitment to timely and high-quality project delivery. This effort not only bridges the housing gap but also boosts investor confidence and strengthens the credibility of Nigeria’s real estate sector on the global stage.

The Renewed Hope Estate is more than a housing project, it’s a promise, a symbol of progress, and a blueprint for the future. And at the heart of this transformation is Harmony Gardens, standing tall as a beacon of innovation, quality, and trust in Nigeria’s ever-evolving urban development space.
