The planning committee for the forthcoming DB@50 Celebration has announced a change in the date of the event from Saturday, November 14, to Sunday, November 15, 2026.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Taofeek Afolabi, announced the adjustment, attributing it to circumstances beyond the control of the committee.
The celebration, organised in honour of celebrity journalist and Publisher of Lagos News Today, Dayo Badmus is a three-in-one event featuring his 50th birthday celebration, the conferment of a traditional chieftaincy title and the launch of his book, The 25 Laws of FAME.
As part of the ceremony, the Orile-Ifo monarch, HRM Oba Adewale Ogunjobi, is scheduled to confer on Badmus the prestigious title of BAAROYIN of Orile-Ifo Kingdom.
Afolabi disclosed that the change of date had been formally communicated to the palace of the royal father to ensure proper coordination of the ceremony.
The installation as BAAROYIN will commence from the Palace of Olorile of Orile-Ifo by 11am before birthday and book launch moves to Galaxy hall at 1pm on Sunday.
While expressing regret over the adjustment, the committee chairman apologised to invited guests and other stakeholders for any inconvenience the development might cause.
He also appealed for the understanding and continued support of guests, assuring them that the planning committee remained committed to delivering a memorable celebration.
The committee urged all invited guests to take note of the new date and make the necessary adjustments to their schedules.
