“A Call to Sacred Service: My Commitment to Ijebuland”

By Omoba Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf

As a direct descendant of the revered Tunwase Royal Lineage of the Fusenguwa Ruling House, my aspiration to serve as the next Awujale of Ijebuland is not born of ambition, but of duty — a sacred obligation to heritage, justice, and the enduring greatness of our people.

Ijebuland stands as one of the most culturally distinguished and economically vibrant kingdoms in Yorubaland. The throne of the Awujale is not merely a symbol of authority; it is a covenant between the ancestors, the living, and generations yet unborn. It demands wisdom, restraint, foresight, and an unwavering commitment to unity.

My years of public service — including my tenure as Chief Commissioner and Ombudsman of the Public Complaints Commission — have been guided by principles of fairness, accountability, and the defense of the voiceless. These same principles would guide my stewardship of the throne: ensuring justice, inclusiveness, and stability across all quarters of Ijebuland.

I do not seek to reinvent Ijebuland. I seek to strengthen it.

A Vision Anchored in Heritage and Progress

Preservation of Culture & Royal Institutions

To protect the sanctity of our traditions, elevate our festivals, and promote Ijebu heritage globally while maintaining the dignity of the throne.

Unity Across All Ruling Houses and Communities

To foster harmony among the Fusenguwa and other ruling houses, traditional chiefs, youth, women, and the global Ijebu diaspora.

Youth Leadership & Educational Advancement

To create structured mentorship, scholarship, and innovation platforms that prepare our youth for global relevance without cultural displacement.

Strategic Economic Advancement

To strengthen partnerships that drive sustainable development, empower local enterprise, and position Ijebuland as a cultural and economic beacon in Nigeria and beyond.

Transparent & Consultative Monarchy

To uphold a leadership style rooted in listening, consensus-building, and moral authority.

The throne of the Awujale is a sacred trust. It calls for humility before God, reverence for our ancestors, and compassion for our people.

If entrusted with this responsibility, I will serve with integrity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the peace, prosperity, and enduring legacy of Ijebuland.

Ijebuland shall not merely endure — it shall flourish.
