INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY : MESSAGE OF HOPE & CALL TO ACTION- Senator Akeem Adeleke

On this International Youth Day, the Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders Forum, under the visionary leadership of Prof. Hassan A. Tolani, proudly extends heartfelt congratulations to the millions of vibrant, talented, and resilient Yoruba youths across the globe.

Today is more than a celebration, it is a clarion call to rise, unite, and actively shape the future we desire. We salute the boundless creativity, courage, and commitment that define the Yoruba youth, grounded in the enduring principles of Omoluabi.

We urge all Yoruba youths to stand firmly behind and support the noble initiatives of our revered traditional leaders, including His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and other esteemed royal fathers, whose wisdom and guidance remain vital to our unity, heritage, and progress.

In the same spirit, we call on all government institutions, under the leadership of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria , as well as all Southwest Governors, to prioritize policies and programs that advance youth welfare, job creation, and job security.

Yoruba youths are enterprising, creative, and industrious, with just a little push, we can transform dreams into reality and propel our land to the promised future we seek.

Furthermore, we implore all Yoruba youths and well-meaning Nigerians, especially those from Yoruba-speaking communities, to lend their full support to our forthcoming IWA DAY Maiden Celebration, a historic cultural and youth empowerment event organised by the Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders Forum, the umbrella body of all Yoruba youth groups worldwide. This landmark celebration will hold on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade. It will be a day to showcase our heritage, honour our leaders, and inspire the next generation.

Let this International Youth Day remind us that the future is not something we wait for, it is something we build together, with unity, discipline, and purpose.

The Yoruba youth’s time is now.
