Atapa’s journey into the world of filmmaking began officially in June 6th, 2022, after completing a semester session at the prestigious Pefti Film Institute in the year 2014/2015. During his time at Pefti, he honed his skills and acquired valuable knowledge about the art of filmmaking.
Passionate about his craft, Atapa sought guidance from established directors in the industry. He had the privilege of working and learning from renowned figures such as Okiki Afolayan, Abiodun Jimoh, Ojopagogo, and drew inspiration from watching movies by the highly regarded Kunle Afolayan.
Taking advantage of the digital landscape, Atapa directed movies that were marketed online through popular YouTube channels like Kuyetv and Yorubahoodtv. These platforms allowed him to reach a wider audience and showcase his talent to Yoruba movie enthusiasts.
Some of the notable movies Atapa directed include “Maami,” “Amode Maja” series, “Ajinde,” “Ijoba,” “Our Vow,” “Fate of Senior Kudi,” “Beru Bajoba,” “Cashless Policy,” “Aimokan,” “Omo Akure,” “Agbala Fumbi,” and “Ajakuta.” Each of these projects showcased Atapa’s unique storytelling ability and his knack for capturing the essence of Yoruba culture.
