Yoruba Actress, Basira Beere Finally Opens Up on The Cause of Her Mum’s Sudden Death in Ibadan

Last weekend, the Yoruba movie industry was thrown into mourning following the death of Rasheedat Olarinre Alake, the mother of popular actress Yusuf Omoshalewa Adeola, better known as Basira Beere.

Earlier, we broke the sad news and promised to update our readers on the circumstances surrounding her passing. In an exclusive chat with Gbolahan Adetayo, the heartbroken actress revealed how unexpected the death was.

According to her:

“My mum, Rasheedat Olarinre Alake, wasn’t sick, neither did she give any sign before she died at the age of 75. I visited her on Thursday, and I was still with her on Friday before I went to a party, only for the unfortunate incident to happen midnight between Friday and Saturday. She wasn’t the sickly type at all. In fact, we were together that weekend, gisting and laughing.

The people around her noticed she didn’t come out on time as usual. When she eventually did, she only complained of a slight headache, and that was all. Shortly after, she passed away. My mum was immediately buried according to Islamic rites at her residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.”

The sudden passing of Mama Rasheedat has left family, friends, and fans in deep shock, with many describing her as a loving and cheerful woman who lived a fulfilled life.
