“Why I Sent My Maid Away”- Star Actress, Wumi Toriola Finally Speaks on Allegation

Star actress, Wumi Toriola has finally opened up on the news flying around in the media this morning, claiming that she dumped her maid by the roadside.

Toriola was accused of publicly assaulting her maid and dumping her by the roadside. It was also reported that the maid was allowed to go after forcing her to write an under-taking in a police station.

The maid, Motunrayo Azeeze said the actress melted the assault on her after she accused her of drugging her son, she said the husband of the actress also called a solider to also beat her up in their home.

In an exclusive chat with Gbolahan Adetayo this morning, the talented actress shared her on side of the story.

According to her, “to be honest with you, this is something I wouldn’t like to talk about. Wumi Toriola might be this and that but I respect my family alot especially my son. I don’t like putting anything about him on the pages of newspapers or blogs but based on some crazy headlines I have been seeing since morning, I just have to forcefully do this.
One month of working with her, I caught her on camera giving my child drug without my consent. A week before that, i noticed the boy would sleep early unlike him and wouldnt wake up in good time only for me to check the camera at home on Friday and saw her giving him cough syrup and 2 other drugs.
I had to leave work and go home only for me to see that she had packed her things, i instructed the security not to allow her go out, apparently she wanted to go since she was paid a day before, so many people begged that i should leave her, her mum called crying and claiming that her dad was sick too.
I left her to sleep till following morning as it was too late because i didn’t want to take a risk leaving her that night (Godforbid something bad to happen to her on her way home).
In the morning, i took her to police staion to write a statement as my instinct told me she was up to something.
The Ipo said “if you allow her write statement they would detain her. Out of pity, i let it slide and on our way back, she begged me to let her go and i parked for her, she dropped and i let it slide. Thank God I wasn’t the only one in the car, my personal assistant and my driver were also in the car with us. I think the mistake I made was to park for her at the roadside. I dropped her on the road as i was going to take my boy to the hospital. Before going to the police station, she had already packed her loads and kept them in my car. I parked for her to come down because she has her bags in the car.
Only for me to see all sorts in the news this morning. They are so quick to run to the media once it’s we the popular face. The second house help told her ”nothing was wrong with my boy, why giving him drugs”she didn’t respond.
A week before that, my neighbor said she would take the boy outside like a strol and beat him atimes, this is a girl i take out with me everywhere, I try to always make her comfortable so that she will take care of my boy. Everyone knows me, I don’t even go to work outside Lagos nor sleep at a location since i had him.
I would make sure i get home same day, even because of this, I made sure the boy stays in school till 5pm so that he would have less hours to stay with Nanny before i return home.
Between 5pm and the time the boy would sleep is what she can’t endure. She always wanted to press phone, so she gives the baby drugs so that he could fall asleep on time.
I almost hit her out of anger but she ran and i controlled my self as the other maid was blaming her that she asked her why she would give him drugs”, she said.
