On October 25, 2024, TAMPAN Guild of Directors (TGD) held its much-anticipated elections, electing a new slate of executives to lead the organization. Tunde Ola-Yusuf was named the new Chairman, a position that has garnered widespread support and excitement from industry members and stakeholders.
The election results brought together an accomplished team of executives to drive TGD’s goals forward. Akorede Adebowale will serve as Secretary, Princess Ololade Ebong as Treasurer, Mr. Samson Adebayo as Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Tunde Ayoola as Provost Marshal. The successful election has stirred congratulatory messages from notable industry figures, including Muyiwa Ademola, Bayo Tijani, Odunlade Adekola, Damola Olatunji, Mr. Latin, Tope Adebayo, and Musiliu S. Ayinde, all of whom expressed confidence in the new leadership team.
In his acceptance speech, Ola-Yusuf expressed gratitude for the trust vested in him by guild members, pledging to lead with “integrity, transparency, and unwavering dedication.” He highlighted the importance of unity within the guild and called on members to work collaboratively to further the guild’s mission.
“I am humbled and honored to accept the mantle of leadership as your newly elected Guild Chairman. To my fellow members, I promise to listen and represent your interests to the best of my abilities,” he said.
Among his first actions as Chairman, Ola-Yusuf announced the immediate dissolution of all standing committees, with the exception of the Disciplinary Committee, to streamline operations and set a new direction. He also established a Transition Committee comprising past and new executives to ensure a smooth handover, while state coordinators will remain in place to maintain continuity during this transition phase.
Ola-Yusuf emphasized the importance of updating the guild’s records, announcing that data collation would begin immediately. He urged directors handling production to complete necessary forms to ensure TGD’s accurate and comprehensive engagement with governmental bodies, multinationals, and other relevant organizations.
In an encouraging close to his speech, Ola-Yusuf extended his gratitude to the Board of Trustees, led by Otunba Adebayo Aremu Salami, as well as the National Executives, headed by Otunba Bolaji Makin Amusan JP, and expressed his commitment to making TGD a source of pride for its members. He also recognized the efforts of the Electoral Committee, led by immediate past Chairman Amb Titi Jeje and supported by Ex-Scribe Mr. Tola Bolaji and Princess Kemi Egbeyode, for their dedication to a fair and seamless election process.
With the newly elected team in place, TGD members are optimistic about a future that prioritizes professional growth, inclusivity, and advocacy for members’ rights.
Long Live TGD! Long Live TAMPAN! Art lives on.
