Tragedy Strikes Nollywood As Popular Skit Maker Dies Suddenly

 

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of fast-rising comedian and skit maker, Mr Sanku Comedy, who reportedly passed away today, September 1, 2025.

 

The heartbreaking news was first shared by popular actress, Funmi Awelewa, on her Instagram page, sparking shockwaves across the entertainment space. Moments later, Yoruba actor Lanre Adediwura also confirmed the news with a touching tribute accompanied by his last video with the late comedian.

 

In his emotional post, Adediwura recounted their brief but impactful bond:

 

“I only met you a week ago and you immediately matched my energy and called me Daddy. I wasted no time accepting you in my world as a godson. We toured the land of Osogbo together and we had our laughter… little did I know that death was somewhere calling @mrsankucomedy. Ahhhh September came with a rude shock. Can someone just tell me it was a content??? This can’t be you laying lifeless on that road. Ahhhhhh my heart is broken. Sleep well son. Rest gracefully in the heart of the Lord your God. You will be greatly missed.”

 

Mr Sanku Comedy, who had rapidly grown a fanbase for his humorous skits and unique content style, was described by colleagues as energetic, talented, and full of promise. His untimely passing has left fans and fellow entertainers devastated, with many flooding social media platforms to express their grief.

 

The cause of his death remains unclear as at the time of this report, but tributes continue to pour in from fans and celebrities alike, reflecting the huge void his demise has created in the comedy industry.

 

The late skit maker’s last moments, filled with laughter and camaraderie, are now bittersweet memories for those who knew him. His legacy of joy, creativity, and comic brilliance will not be forgotten.
