“Stop Punishing Nigerians For The Sin of Your Fellow Politicians”- Ex-Labour Party’s Presidential Aspirant, Joseph Faduri To Buhari

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, the Former Presidential Aspirant, Labour Party has written an open letter to the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari following the hardship Naira Scarcity has brought to Nigerians.

Fadojoe, in a letter titled, “Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari” said Nigerians should not be punished for the sins of his fellow politicians who at any rate can always have their way no matter what.

According to him, “Your Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari,
It is ill-timed changing the Naira currency on the eve of electioneering in our Nation. Whosoever advised you of this, gave you the wrong advice and you also followed without considering its implications on ordinary Nigerians, who have suffered so much hardship within the last few months with fuel scarcity, and inflation like the World has ever known among other issues bothering Nigerians.

“To imagine the reason for changing Naira at the eve of an election is to curb few politicians buying votes is irresponsible on your part, as looking back 8years and 4years ago, the same politicians supported you and used the same machinery to push you in. So to see vote buying as a crime which it has always been, but with no serious consequences is laughable and won’t get the result you anticipated.

“It is also disappointing that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, your CBN Governor could not study history, especially from nations like India and more, that have tried such currency change and was rolled out badly with bad result.

“To punish already suffering Nigerians with more hardship is inhuman and irresponsible of any great leader. Nigerians would never forget this hardship in a long time.

“To make matters worst. You disobeyed your own Supreme Court of the land, that put a peg on the new note until the old notes issue is resolved. So, how do you lead by example if the custodian of the law is disobeying the law? then how do you make an ordinary Nigerian to obey the law of the land?

“Now, we live in a Nation of absolute lawlessness, everyone is disobeying the law, Banks are burning, Roads are not safe, there is so much tension in the country, and our democracy is in shambles, with our leaders disobeying court orders while citizens disobeying civil orders of the society.

“Nigeria is the most populous Black Nation on Earth and if we can’t get it right no other African Nation can.
Obey the court order Mr. President, stop the CBN from this military tactic from the Bank, even developed countries don’t change money within 2 months.

“Old Britain Pounds Sterling and American Old Dollars are still accepted within America, how on earth would a developing country like Nigeria be different?

“I hope that your Excellency would not leave a legacy of disobeying court orders because when you do, many people will follow your footstep which will spell doom for our Nation.

“Nigerians should not be punished for the sins of your fellow politicians, who at any rate can always have their ways no matter what. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, he wrote.
