The head of the Papa Alagbeji family in Osolo, Lagos State, Alhaji Taorid Farounbi, popularly known as Alado, has appealed to the Lagos State Government to officially recognize Prince Saheed Ishola Aregbesola as the Osolo-elect. Speaking passionately, Chief Alado called on Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr. Kadir Hamzat, and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Bolaji Robert, to heed the people’s voice by declaring Prince Aregbesola as the rightful heir to the Osolo throne.
Chief Farounbi, who also holds the esteemed title of Akinrogun of Isholo, unequivocally affirmed that Prince Saheed Aregbesola is the sole candidate of the Papa Alagbeji family for the Osolo stool. Dispelling rumors that he had endorsed other contenders for the throne, he described such claims as baseless and misleading.
“I want to make it categorically clear that as the head of the Papa Alagbeji family, the only person I have endorsed for the Osolo stool is Prince Saheed Ishola Aregbesola,” Chief Alado declared. “Any other person claiming my endorsement is nothing but a chronic liar and an impostor.”
He further urged Governor Sanwo-Olu and relevant authorities to dismiss any correspondence that does not bear the name of Prince Saheed Aregbesola as the family’s chosen candidate for the royal position.
This appeal comes amidst growing public support for Prince Saheed Aregbesola, who is seen as a unifying figure and the rightful heir to the Osolo throne. Chief Alado’s statement aims to dispel any controversies surrounding the succession and reaffirm the family’s unanimous decision in favor of Prince Aregbesola.
The Osolo stool holds significant cultural and traditional importance in Lagos State, and the announcement of a rightful heir is expected to bring stability and progress to the community.
