In a bid to provide free and accessible healthcare to underserved Nigerians, Project Your Health Matters is set to host a community-wide medical outreach and cancer awareness campaign on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Kayom Community, Lgassa Phase II, Oribanwa Bus-Stop, Ibeju-Lekki, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Organized by Dr. Kingsley Iwuoha, founder of Project Your Health Matters, and co-hosted by Mr. Abumchukwu Ezeilo, a colorectal cancer survivor and advocate for early detection, the outreach will offer free consultations, medical tests, cancer screenings, medications, health education, and treatment to hundreds of community residents at absolutely no cost.
“Our mission is to bridge the gap in access to healthcare for underserved communities,” said Dr. Iwuoha. “This outreach is more than a medical exercise; it is about restoring dignity and promoting preventive healthcare for all.”
Recognizing the critical need for early cancer detection, the outreach will include free breast and cervical cancer screenings for women, and PSA tests for men, in partnership with Lakeshore Cancer Center, a leading Nigerian cancer care institution. Other services to be provided include:
Free general medical consultations
Blood pressure, blood sugar & malaria tests
Distribution of free medications
Health talks on preventive care, nutrition, and hygiene
Free contraceptives and mosquito nets (as donations permit)
MEDIA AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT
The outreach is being supported by Nigeria Info Radio, which will host Dr. Iwuoha and a team member in a live program ahead of the event to raise awareness. In addition, Silverbird TV and businesstimes.ng are official media partners for the outreach, providing media coverage and visibility to encourage participation and support.
“Early detection saved my life,” shared Mr. Ezeilo. “I want others to know they can beat cancer too, if caught early.”
