The Managing Director/CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Otunba Engr. Dr. Adedeji Asiru, alongside his management team, paid a courtesy visit to Iponda-Ijesa in Osun State, reaffirming his commitment to driving sustainable development in the community.
The delegation was warmly received by the Oniponda-designate, Prince Dr. Adedotun Adebola Adeboyejo, on behalf of the people of Iponda-Ijesa. Sons and daughters of the community gave Dr. Asiru a hero’s welcome, acknowledging his longstanding relationship with the town and his dedication to its progress.
Dr. Asiru emphasized that his visit aimed to foster sustainable growth and infrastructural advancement in Iponda-Ijesa, in alignment with the developmental agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. He pledged to support the community through key initiatives designed to improve agriculture, access to clean water, and security.
Dr. Asiru highlighted the vital role of agriculture in the local economy and pledged to construct a dam equipped with an irrigation system. This project will provide year-round water supply for farming, enhancing food security, economic empowerment, and job creation in Iponda-Ijesa.
Recognizing the challenges of accessing clean water in rural areas, Dr. Asiru committed to installing industrial power boreholes. This initiative aims to ensure a steady and safe water supply, improving public health and living standard in the community.
To enhance security and promote economic activities, Dr. Asiru promised to install solar-powered streetlights at strategic locations across Iponda-Ijesa. This will improve nighttime visibility, safety, and the overall well-being of residents.
Expressing his appreciation for the warm reception, Dr. Asiru reassured the Designated and the people of Iponda-Ijesa that these promises would be fulfilled, marking a new chapter of transformation and development.
In response, Prince Dr. Adedotun Adebola Adeboyejo commended Dr. Asiru’s visionary leadership and generosity, noting that these projects will have a lasting impact on the community.
