Ogun Visionaries Set for Final Zonal Town Hall in Abeokuta, Removes Lekuti as DDG

One of the leading political groups in Ogun State, Ogun Visionaries, has announced plans to host the Ogun Central edition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi)’s zonal town hall meeting in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The event, scheduled for April 30, 2026, marks the final leg of the group’s zonal engagements ahead of the 2027 governorship race.

Tagged “Ogun 2027: Yayi For All,” the town hall meeting is designed to mobilize grassroots support and provide a platform for engagement between stakeholders and the electorate.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the Director General of Ogun Visionaries, Leye Odunjo, disclosed that the event will attract key political stakeholders across Ogun Central.

According to him, activities for the day will commence with a health walk themed “Ogun Visionaries for Yayi Unity Walk” with the slogan “Let’s Walk for a United and Prosperous Ogun State.” The initiative, he noted, is aimed at rallying support for Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition.

“The town hall meeting will feature prominent personalities, with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi as the Special Guest of Honour. It will serve as an interactive platform for engagement with the people,” Odunjo said.

He further revealed that Ogun Visionaries had previously held successful town hall meetings in Ogun West and Ogun East senatorial districts, adding that the Abeokuta gathering represents the concluding zonal edition before the group moves to local government and ward-level engagements.

Odunjo also noted that distinguished individuals would be honoured with Awards of Recognition in appreciation of their support for the group since its inception.

Speaking on the political climate in the state, he maintained that growing support for Senator Adeola reflects the people’s desire for his emergence as governor in 2027.

“The political atmosphere in Ogun State is increasingly aligning with the aspirations of the people for Yayi’s leadership. This meeting is a crucial step towards uniting stakeholders and advancing that vision,” he added.

Lekuti Removed as Deputy Director General

Meanwhile, Ogun Visionaries has announced the removal of Olugbenga Lekuti as Deputy Director General (DDG) for Ogun East.

In a statement made available to journalists, Odunjo explained that Lekuti was relieved of his position due to alleged anti-group and anti-Yayi activities.

He added that a replacement would be announced in due course.
