Nigerian Comedy Awards: Broda Shaggi Emerges Winner As Best Comedy Actor

 

Broda Shaggi, Samuel Animashaun Perry has emerged as the winner in the just concluded maiden edition of the Nigeria Comedy Awards organised by WAP TV.
Brodda Shaggi won the competition having featured in FACE2FACE, a comedy series from the stable of AK MEDIA Concepts Ltd, a content production company with track records of notable drama series.
The event which came up last week, Sunday, 24th September 2023, at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, was a maiden edition of WAP TV, held to commemorate the 75th birthday of Mr. Wale Adenuga, (MFR) the Co-Executive Producer, of the Nigeria Comedy Awards.
It was earlier revealed that the nominees to be awarded were as follows; My Flatmates and The Johnsons for the Best Comedy TV Show/ Series; Powski of Max FM and Yaw for the Best Comedy Radio Personality; Jude OC and Ajebo for Best Animation; Kiriku and Success for Best Comedy Kid; Dada Adekola and Solomon Vi for Best Comedy Cartoonist.
Others were Josh2funny and Kenny Blaq for the Best Comedy Musician; Taaooma and Tomama for the Best Comedy Skit-maker (female); Mr. Macaroni and Sabinus for the Best Comedy Skit-maker (male); Passport and Battle on Bukka Street for the Best Comedy Movie; Mercy Johnson and Bimbo Ademoye for Best Comedy Actor, Series/Movie (female); Broda Shaggi and Charles Inojie for Best Comedy Actor, Series/Movie (male); AY Live and Responsible for Best Stand Up Comedy Show; Helen Paul and Real Warri Pikin for Best Stand Up Comedian (female); Bovi and Basket Mouth for Best Stand Up Comedian (male); and Real Sophy and Layi Wasabi for Revelation of the year.
Broda Shaggi, who was visibly present, was glad to have won the keenly contested contest and was there live at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos to receive the award.
In her reaction, the executive producer of FACE2FACE, Mrs. Yosola Akindeju Asekun, expressed her gratitude to the organizer of the program and also congratulated Brodda Shaggi for making the company proud having done excellently well on set.
Yosola Akindeju Asekun was quick to appreciate others who have made the comedy-drama series a cynosure of all eyes in Nigeria’s entertainment industry today having won different awards over the year.
Face2Face, a comedy series has been on Nigerian television and also in different television stations in the Diaspora for almost two decades.
