The zonal chairman of the South West, Comrade Kolawole Samuel, representing the Ondo State chapter of the Rescue Nigeria Youth Foundation (RNYF), supports the call made by the national president of RNYF, Chief Navy Stephen, for the immediate removal of the Sole Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR). This is due to the Administrator’s selfish interests and failure to fulfill his basic responsibilities towards the Niger Delta region. It is crucial to relieve the sole administrator and appoint a new administrator who is committed to collective leadership, purposeful organization, and the overall well-being of the Niger Delta and its youth.
The zonal chairman, Comrade Kolawole Samuel, further describes the continued appointment of the NDDC Sole Administrator by the Federal Government as a total waste and undeserving of the objectives of the NDDC establishment. The NDDC should serve the personal interests of the elites outside the regional base of the commission at the expense of the people of the Niger Delta.
The promise of engaging 1,000 youths in each Niger Delta state for empowerment is nothing more than a political gimmick. The youth of the region lack confidence in the administration and have not benefited from its actions. The sole administrator’s decisions have been selfish and personal, disregarding the needs and aspirations of the region’s youth and deviating from the NDDC’s mission.
The zonal chairman of the Ondo State chapter, Comrade Kolawole Samuel, calls on Nigerians to proactively evaluate the NDDC’s youth empowerment program, its registration process, and the disenfranchisement of millions of eligible youths in the region.
Additionally, the South West zonal chairman appeals to the Senate president, His Excellency Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON), to intervene in the activities that shortchange the people of the Niger Delta by the NDDC administrator.
The region has made calls for the immediate removal of the NDDC sole administrator.
