Indeed, these are definitely not the best of times for the theater arts practitioners in Nigeria as more strong members of the Industry are suddenly leaving the sinful world.
The family of Lambert Dike, was thrown into a mourning mood last week Friday 5th March 2021, when the spirit of death paid a visit to the family and took away the veteran actor.
According to the information gathered by www.yorubamoviegist.com, Dike was sick and he traveled back to his village at Orlu, Imo State in late 2020, thinking that he will return to Lagos after he regain his strength.
It is so disheartening to hear that Lambert, who always featured in both Igbo and Yoruba movies breathed his last exactly 8 days to his birthday.
Below are what some of his colleagues said about his death:
OREDOLA ADEOLA: “I regret to announce the loss of a BOSS @Lambert Dike …
This man immensely supported my brand E-Zone Africa and my person…
He was a true pan-African, a believer in the project AFRICA and someone who held the Arts &Entertainment Industry so dear…
He opened the door to the Nollywood industry for me …
He was always helpful without asking anything in return..
Mr Lambert , now late! This is hard to belief…
As a thespian and Movie Director/Producer, Mr Lambert was deep in speaking YORUBA so well and he was very active in the Yoruba Movie Industry…
You won’t believe he was an Igbo man…He spoke Yoruba language so well
He introduced me to Prince Jide Kosoko who later adopted me as one of his sons…
He has been helpful in facilitating participations of Nollywood actors in E-Zone Africa’s shows..especially our fashion show…
Chief Lambert took me to Mama Rainbow, Baba Ajasco, Iya Awero, Baba Suwe, Odunlade to mention but a few ..
He made them participate in my shows at no cost , in fact he claimed ownership of the events so as to ease me of the usually payment made for artists’ appearance …
He was a great mentor, motivator and a source of strength to me …
With him, I always boast of any Artistes / Celebrity in my show…
Can’t believe that you are gone BOSS…
Now that you have Gone boss… I don’t know how to further navigate that world…
Please continue to Rest in the Lord
Adieu”

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there.
And yet, death is the destination we all share.
No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life.
It’s life’s change agent.
It clears out the old to make way for the new.”
