Abayomi Oke-Asiwaju, is a Creative Director and CEO Novent Media & Entertainment outfit in Ota, Ogun State. The wave making entertainment boss has revealed to us how his journey into the entertainment industry started for him in 2011 after dumping Banking industry to pick up a challenge in another industry.
Asiwaju said meeting with Bimbo Ogunsanya, a creative TV programmes and Film director really helped his career. Bimbo Ogunsanya is another big name in the creative industry whom media hardly talk about.
Just as he created and directed some of the TV programmes on Orisun TV on Star Time such as Miliki Express and Bosenlo where the likes of Lateef Adedimeji, Damilola Banire, Gbolahan Adetayo, Ayinke Dayo Kujore, Oluwatoyin Oki, Kemi Iyanda, Bimbo Badmus and co were the prominent presenters of the programmes, Ogunsanya is right now planning to produce another set of super stars in Cinematography, Photography and Filmmaking with a programme he called “Masterclass” which will hold at Landmark Cafe, 28, Johu Road, Akhiderna Junction, Ota, Ogun State on March 1st,2021.
When he was asked, Asiwaju said, “In 2011 when I left the Banking Industry and faced entertainment fully, I had the opportunity to serve as a PA to a Movie Producer/Actor.
I met a Man who I have always seen from afar behind the camera at Tinsel, MTNProjectFame, Nigerian Idol; just to mention a few. His name is Bimbo Ogunsanya. He was quick to identify my potentials and gave me a role in his Soap Opera – SABABI which stars alot of great actors like Gbenga Oyeyiga and co.
Away from that, Uncle B as Bimbo Ogunsanya is fondly called gave the popular TV Personality Lateef Adedimeji, Bisola Ayeola of Big Brother Naija and myself platform in the industry.
Bimbo is a Protege of world famous & veteran Filmmaker, Tunde Kelani. Little wonder he can do virtually anything in Film making.
Bimbo is the brain behind the success recorded in Tosin Martin’s evergreen song “Olo Mi video” which he shot and directed. He has so many popular Musical Videos like that which he shot and directed.
He has recieved several awards owing to his Midas touch on notable film projects and Cinema works.
It is an honour to have him training budding & experienced Actors & Filmmakers.
Even though he’s not getting the accolade that he deserves in the industry, Ogunsanya never relented in building the future of tomorrow in the broadcast and filmmaking industry.
The very intelligent man of many substances is currently warming up to hold a “Masterclass in Cinematography, Photography and Filmmaking” which will commence on Monday 1st March 2021, he will be dropping some nuggets here for us as appetizers.
Once again, I will like to recommend this one week programme to every Nigerian who desires to join the movie industry.
Comedians who want to shoot good skits. Young filmmakers who want to produce short films and feature films must attend this ‘Masterclass'”, he said.
