“How I Intend To Celebrate My Mum’s 2 Years Remembrance”- Star Actor, Leye Kuti Reveals

London based fine boy actor, Leye Adesile Kuti and his siblings are set to return to Nigeria by June 26th 2021, for the 2 years remembrance of their late mum, Deaconess Victoria Fayemi Adunni Adesile, who died in June 26th 2019, at Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill, Camberwell, London, after a brief illness. She died at age 70. Her remains was transported to Nigeria for burial on Friday 2nd August 2019.

However, in a chat with www.yorubamoviegist.com publisher, Gbolahan Adetayo, Leye revealed to us how he intended to mark the 2nd year remembrance of his mum. He also shed more light on why his family didn’t mark the 1st remembrance last year.

According to him, “Just like yesterday, it is almost 2 years now without my mother. She passed away in June 26th 2019 and the pandemic didn’t let us do anything for her last year. But this year, I think I may come to Nigeria to just do a little prayer and go to Ebony vault to build ceramic there. After that, we will go to my father’s house to pray for her. We will go to church on Sunday for the prayers though. Of course, we will kill Rams and invite family members and some private friends to remember her because she was so important to us. I still find it difficult to believe that she has gone, trust me. It hasn’t been easy on me. Sometimes, I can’t even afford to listen to some kind of music like Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi and King Sunny Ade because that’s her kind of music. Anytime I listen to those music, it brings back the old memories with her. My children missed her so much, you know she died here in England. I missed her too but what can we do? We love her but God loves her more. We are going to give her a befitting remembrance by killing some Rams. We are Nigerians and we believe in our traditions. We kill the animals to put blood on the floor in her remembrance. Like I said earlier, it is going to be a family thing. I am leaving London for Nigeria and same thing with my siblings in America. It going to be a low-key remembrance. Thanks”, he said.
