The entertainment industry, particularly the Gospel music community, has been thrown into mourning following the death of the mother of popular Ipara-Remo, Ogun State-born singer, Seyi Afolabi Pleasure, popularly known as Mr Possibility.
The deceased, Madam Abigael Adebisi Soyiga Onasile, fondly called “Iya Alakara,” passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 90, according to the funeral announcement released by the Onasile and Soyiga families.
The burial poster shows that her final rites will begin with a wake-keeping service on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Ijabata, Ipara-Remo, to be conducted by Divine Life Ministries (Holyghost Assembly), Ipara-Remo.
Later that evening, family, friends and well-wishers will gather for an Artists’ Night/Akara Night in her honour at the same venue.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, also at Ijabata, after which she will be laid to rest. Guests will subsequently be entertained at United Primary School, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
Madam Onasile was widely known in her community as Iya Alakara, a name that reflected her long-standing reputation and popularity among residents of Ipara-Remo.
Since news of her passing emerged, sympathisers, colleagues and fans have extended their heartfelt condolences to Mr Possibility and the entire Onasile and Soyiga families, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to grant the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
