KSM Honours Dedicated Members, Sets Stage for November National Convention

More than 115 distinguished members and supporters of The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria (KSM) were honoured on Friday at the 47th Annual KSM Supreme Council Convention 2026 Pre-Convention Dinner, as the organisers intensified preparations for the national convention scheduled for November.

The event, held at the Archbishop Adewale Martins Hall, St. Leo, Ikeja, attracted eminent Catholic Knights from across Nigeria and the international community, with awards presented to individuals recognised for their longstanding commitment to the Order’s charitable activities.

Chairman of the Convention Organising Committee, Sir Benjamin Omenazu-Agba Ofodile, commended Sir Ralph J. Karieren for delivering what he described as a world-class pre-convention dinner, noting that the successful event reflected the unity, vision and commitment of members towards hosting an outstanding national convention.

According to Ofodile, the dinner served not only as a platform to honour dedicated members but also to galvanise support ahead of the 47th Annual Supreme Council Convention scheduled to hold from November 24 to 29, 2026.

“This gathering demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our members and supporters to the ideals of charity and service upon which the Order is founded. We are particularly grateful to Sir Ralph J. Karieren for delivering a world-class pre-convention dinner that has set the tone for a successful national convention,” he said.

The occasion was attended by leading Catholic Knights from across the globe, including Sir Charles Cobbs, KSJ, KoM, International President of the International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK) Worldwide.

Also present were the IACK Vice President, Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede, who is also the immediate past Supreme Knight of Nigeria, alongside his wife, Lady Dr. Ify Mbelede, PMLP, as well as Noble Lady Anthonia Obah.

The Worthy Metro-Grand Knight, Sir Godwin Nosa Ehigiator, served as the Chief Host, while the event was chaired by the Worthy Deputy Supreme Knight Commander, Sir Dan Uzochukwu Egwu.

The ceremony brought together representatives from the 32 Sub-Councils within the Lagos Metro-Council, covering Lagos and Ogun States, who were recognised as “Champions of Charity” for their sustained contributions to the humanitarian works of the Order.

The award recipients received specially designed Platinum, Diamond and Gold acrylic plaques, which were blessed by the Archbishop of the Lagos Metropolitan See, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Adewale Martins, alongside Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede and Sir Godwin Nosa Ehigiator.

The organisers explained that the plaques were presented to Worthy Brothers and Worthy Sisters in recognition of their consistent support for the charitable mission of the Order over several decades and their continued commitment towards ensuring the success of the digitally driven Lagos Metro-Council in hosting the forthcoming national convention.

Speaking during the event, the organisers reiterated that the awards symbolised appreciation for members whose generosity and dedication have strengthened the Order’s charitable outreach over the years.

They also called on members to sustain the spirit of sacrifice and service as preparations gather momentum for the 47th Annual KSM Supreme Council Convention later in the year.

The pre-convention dinner concluded with renewed commitment from members to work collectively towards hosting a successful convention while advancing the Order’s enduring mission of charity, faith and service.
