Family Seeks Urgent Financial Support for Kwara Woman After Leg Amputation

A woman identified as Bimpe Joseph, née Ogunmodede, from ErukuCity in Kwara State, is urgently seeking financial assistance following the amputation of one of her legs due to complications arising from chronic diabetes.

According to reports, Bimpe, a respected member of the Yard Compound clan in ErukuCity, within Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been battling diabetes for several years before her condition deteriorated, eventually leading to the loss of one leg at Titcomb College Hospital.

Speaking with Bethnews Media publisher, Oluwaseun Fabiyi, the patient disclosed that she is currently in urgent need of about N1.5 million to continue her treatment and prevent further health complications.

“My family has managed to raise N200,000 so far, but we are still far from the amount needed for my treatment,” she said emotionally.

Bimpe explained that her health challenges began after being diagnosed with severe diabetes, a condition that requires constant medical attention and careful monitoring. She noted that the prolonged illness has left her unable to work or carry out normal daily activities.

“I have been unable to perform daily tasks normally since the onset of this illness. Since losing one leg, I can no longer work and now depend heavily on others for survival,” she lamented.

She further revealed that doctors prescribed a special injection costing N19,700 every three days, both during and after hospitalization, adding that the rising cost of medication has made treatment increasingly difficult.

According to her, doctors have assured her that strict adherence to the treatment plan could improve her condition, but the financial burden remains overwhelming for her family.

Despite the painful ordeal, Bimpe expressed hope of regaining her strength and independence, while appealing to Nigerians, philanthropists, and sons and daughters of ErukuCity to come to her aid.

“As I continue to fight for my life and recovery, I sincerely appeal for support so that my family will not continue to suffer because of my condition,” she pleaded.
