It is indeed a sad moment for Nollywood veteran actress, Joke Silva, as she mourns the passing of her beloved brother, John Olabiyi Silva, fondly called Long John Silva, Bros B, or Uncle B.
The multiple award-winning actress took to her official Instagram page a few hours ago to share the heartbreaking news with her fans and colleagues. In her emotional post, she wrote:
“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will, we announce the call to glory of my dear brother, John Olabiyi Silva… Long John Silva… Bros B… Uncle B… my easy-go-lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22, 1953 – August 29, 2025.”
While the cause of his death is yet to be revealed, tributes have already begun to pour in from friends, fans, and colleagues in the entertainment industry, who are sending their condolences and prayers to the actress and her family during this painful time.
Joke Silva, who has built a remarkable career spanning decades in Nollywood, is highly respected for her contributions to the film industry. The passing of her brother is no doubt a huge loss to her family and loved ones.
