Olu of Warri: Celebrates ‘Ghigho Aghofen’ As Tech Winner will Receive N1m Cash Prize on 1st October

 

His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III has perfected plan again to celebrate the quarterly cultural diversity within his domain tomorrow Saturday 24th September while the most anticipated Olu of Warri Tech Challenge winner will receive the cash Prize of One million naira only (#1,000,000) on October 1st marking Nigeria independent day.

Ogiame Atuwatse III whose life and influence since ascension to the throne of his ancestors is about impacting the life of male and female both young or old in Warri Kingdom can be likened to the famous inaugural speech by late Former America President, John F Kennedy who said that “Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country” these words defined Olu of Warri one year on the exalted throne of Warri Kingdom.

The winner of the Olu of Warri Tech Challenge initiative will be presented with a cash prize of N1m during Nigeria independent celebration on 1st October at the palace. It’s to encourage the Youth to be transformational change agent using technology to profer solutions to day to day challenges in our nation.

It’s also worth to note that His Majesty, Olu of Warri’s fourth edition of the now famous ‘ghigho Aghofen’ (a palace watch) ceremonies promoting culture and peace among the communities that made up Warri Kingdom will be celebrated tomorrow Saturday 24th at the Palace of Warri Kingdom.

The ceremony was introduced by the revered monarch on his ascension to the exalted Royal throne of his ancestors to also promote cordial relationship among monarchs and communities in his domain.

Expectedly, while various rich and colorful cultural performance to promote culture will be on display, the palace will play host to friends and well-wishers of the Itsekiri’s in Warri Kingdom.

Recall that His Majesty had introduced the Technologically based challenge to encourage and provide opportunity to youth in the Kingdom to develop an inventive culture.

The hunt for brilliant talented I.T youth is targeted at those between the ages of 18 and 35 years to participate in the Olu of Warri Tech challenges with passion for technological innovation and state –of – art digital solutions.
